| The Foreign Workers Department |
The State of Israel welcomes migrant workers who seek legal employment, and makes every effort to safeguard their legal rights and protect them against exploitation by employers. Violating the rights of migrant workers is an offense subjected to fines and even criminal charges.
If you suffered one of the following violations:
You were not paid the minimum wage
Extra sums were deducted from your salary
You were given an insufficient health insurance policy
You were not given proper housing
You were not given a written contract or a wage slip
You were dismissed without prior notice
Your employer withholds your passport
You were demanded to pay an unreasonable mediation fee
or any other violation of the minimum conditions regarding your rights and obligations, health and housing, you can file an official complaint with the Branch for the Enforcement of Labor Laws in the Foreign Workers’ Department:

| Mesila Aid & Information Center – Tel Aviv |
The Mesila Aid & Information Center for the Foreign Community, operated by Tel Aviv Municipality, offers migrant workers in Tel Aviv several social and legal services, including aid and instruction on the education of children of migrant workers.
Mesila’s services furthermore include:
Initiation and development of community projects
Assistance to kindergartens
Legal consulting
Lectures
Assistance in registration to local schools
