The official website marking Israel's 60th anniversary features a complete list of the festives events to take place throughout the year. Additional government websites offer historical, cultural and statistical information on Israel.
The events and festivals are aimed at strengthening religious tolerance and civic awareness, the connection between the history of the State of Israel and the Jewish People, and awareness for nature, heritage, landscape and environmental values.
The various events include, among others, activities at the Hebrew Book Fair, a "basketball against violence" game, a special violins concert to be held along the walls of old Jerusalem, and sponsorship to annual festivals such as the Karmiel Dance Festival, Eilat Jazz Festival, Zefat Klezmer Festival, Acco Festival of Alternative Theatre, and Israel Festival, all to be held during the summer.
